"If you're early, you're on time. And if you're on time, you're late." -Phil Balanga
That's
something that I was taught by my first manager when I was 15 years
old, and I've remembered it ever since. I've been working since
my sophomore year in high school; I originally wanted a job so
I could afford to buy my own things. To this date I've had about
15 different jobs. Although almost all of them have revolved around
Entertainment and Theme Parks. I've worked for Paramount Parks,
Disney World Resort, and multiple A/V companies. I would consider
myself somewhat of a workaholic, a trait I get from my mom. But
in high school, what better job is there then performing on a stage
in front of thousands of people each day, and getting paid a lot
of money to do so? Though I probably was making too much money
for someone my age, at that time anyway. I don't know how many
high school seniors can afford to build a car, pay for a cell phone,
credit cards, buy whatever video and computer equipment they wanted,
and still be able to go out every night with friends.
Like I said I spent a couple years on stage, for the Nickelodeon Show, at Paramount's Great America. I spent another two years in the technical side of that same Entertainment Department. I was Technical Supervisor of Shows one of those years. What that meant was that I had to know how to run everything (technical) for every show in the Park. I also was the one who was called when something would go wrong. I learned a lot about Theatre Lighting and Sound that year. The second of those two years I was a Special Events Technician. I was part of a three man team that would set up and run all the Special Events at the Park. We also would do the concerts as well. So I had that chance to meet groups like O-Town that would perform at our park. Since then I've worked for The Disney Store Inc., Walt Disney World Resort., David Copperfield Productions (yes, the magician), The Tech Museum of Innovation, and a few others.
Since my high school years I've cut all my spending to almost nothing. Having "worked for the mouse" during 2003 taught me what it's like having a job that pays nothing at all. Granted I consider the College Program one of the best things I could have done. (There is more about the College Program elsewhere in this site.)
Anyway, this section I'm dedicating to my past jobs and work experiences. I'm slowly rebuilding these pages as they were originally written four years ago. Please select from the links to the right what areas of my past you're curious about. Though if you wish to hear about the Disney College Program and my experiences in Florida, please click the link above (in red) or using the menu to the left.
